Good Afternoon Everyone,

Well since we cancelled last week, this week we'll be doing the lesson I had originally planned for last week.  We'll be looking at some of our traditions about Christmas that aren't in the scriptures.  Where do we get that image of St. Joseph holding a lilly?  Why do we think Mary was so much younger than Joseph?  Where do we get the names of Mary's parents, Joachim and Ann?  Where do we get the idea of the Immaculate Conception?  A lot of these come from other sources that didn't make it into the scriptures for various reasons.  We'll talk about what some of those reason were, why we picked certain texts for scripture, and we'll look at one example of something that didn't make the cut, even though we still recognize some of the pieces in our traditions.  It should be a fun topic.

March For Life - I'm down to about 6-7 seats available.  If you'd like to go and haven't signed up yet, please get your forms turned in soon.  Seats are going fast!  It's looking like it'll be a fun and inspiring trip.

Matt Maher Concert - Don't forget about the concert.  Details are in last week's update, in this week's bulletin, and I'll put it on the Youth Ministry website.

Parent/Young Adult Volunteers - I put out the new sign-up sheet for volunteers.  If your parent wants to help, click on the link below, that'll take them to the online sign-up sheet.  Please remember, I know it hasn't always happened in the past, but we really need to have at least 1 extra adult helping each week.  Please have any non-parent volunteers contact me first before signing up, they should be 20+

See you Friday, 7pm-9pm!
-Fr. Matt
